The book is awful yet the DVD is frightful. I am guitarist needing to show signs of improvement at bass. In the event that I wasn't experienced I would have be have been totally lost. Case in point after barely clarifying anything Bill dispatches into an exceptionally complex bass line that incorporates a sledge on. The entertaining thing is that he never discloses how to do a mallet on or what it even is. The main thing I escaped from this entire set is the three finger culling which was intriguing and accommodating. However, I wouldn't prescribe for a fledgling to do three finger culling so it is kinda unusual that it is in the "Amateur" book and DVD.
Bill doesn't push any sort of essentials and fitting playing method. His instructing is to let you know "there are no standards and discover what meets expectations for you." Did I have to pay $25 for that?
Billy doesn't take after a script so he is simply making it up as he comes and at times circles back a couple steps. More often than not it appears as though he is filling time saying the same thing again and again. My most loved part is the point at which he takes 15 minutes to clarify the contrast between "bass", "mid", and "treble" on an amp. I think anyone who has ever worked an auto stereo comprehends the idea.
