Whims Of Chambers

Whims Of Chambers

Whims Of Chambers Paul Chambers

Blue Note Records | 1996 | 38:15 | Jazz

Paul Chambers is doubtlessly one of my most loved bass players, so getting this collection was practically essenitial. I was right in suspecting that it would be great on the grounds that it is. Chambers is obviously in advance, yet not at all like a great deal of bass players solo collections (read Ron Carter), Mr. PC is never in your face. He just performances more. Also, there are a cluster of chances on this arrangement to hear his extraordinary arco playing, which dependably got my ear.

I differ however with Amazon's conclusion on Donald Byrd. I think he plays well. In the event that anybody's lines are not decent, I would need to say that its Trane's. In any case, its the trump card, Kenny Burrell who truly does it for me on this collection. Philly Joe lights an enormous fire under Burrell and his guitar performances truly thumped me down on the ground. This is an incredible session for Burrell.

It is simply great however to hear a greater amount of Chamber's arco playing. On the off chance that you need to here some more, you can look at Bud Powell's Scene Changes. PC performances like a mf with the bow on a bundle of tunes. Also, Whims of Chambers is only a decent arrangement to have around. The main downside is the sound quality isn't excessively awesome. Maybe Bluenote will inevitably remaster and discharge it without all the superfluous reverberation. Awesome collection. Get it.
